Over the years I have the opportunity to work with several people of notoriety. This particular instance was for a private holiday party for a corporate client. It was held at the Corinthian and the initial entertainment was provided by a local artist, Dan Dunn, who paints large-scale works with his hands and buckets of paint. The first was of famed musician Dizzie Gillespie which was fantastic and done upside down so you didn't realize what it was until it was flipped upright. Now had the viewer been paying attention to the music they would have understood it was one of his songs. You see his method of speed painting is entertaining and abstract and done within the time span of a single song. So when the second painting began the song was another easily recognizable tune. Upon finishing the second work it was then announced to a surprised audience that the singer was actually in the house and going to perform for them. That entertainer was Natalie Cole.
